Feral animals on Maui

DOFAW estimated 26,000 axis deer on Maui Nui in 2025. Mongoose are established on Maui, as are feral cats, pigs and goats. The Maui Invasive Species Committee runs coqui frog and invasive ant response, and rose-ringed parakeets are not known to be present.

  • Coqui frogContact

    Report · Outside Hawaiʻi Island, call 643-PEST about a coqui heard where none were heard before, then add it to the map.

  • Little fire antContact

    Report · Test suspected ants and report them to 643-PEST; the Hawaiʻi Ant Lab offers free test kits. Then add it to the map.

  • Rose-ringed parakeetContact

    Report · Not known to be present on Maui. The state asks that every sighting go to MISC or DOFAW; then add it to the map.
